Schools Out Science Camp for K-1 Graders! A partnership between OMSH and the Ky Science Center!
Join us for a week of TALL TALES - Hey Diddle Diddle! Dive into the science inside your favorite tall tale! Have you wondered if a cow could really jump over the moon? Can you build a suit to protect Humpty Dumpty during a three-story fall? Explore the world of tall tales from medieval times, when many of these stories originated, to our real lives now! Registration is $175 for the week; OMSH members receive a 10% discount! Drop off starts at 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and pick up lasts until 5:00 p.m. The camp itself begins at 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

They'll discover the medical advances that explain certain genetic mutations....such as why a child can have brown eyes if both parents have blue eyes. Can mutations give you super human strength? They'll find out the answers and much more as they uncode the secrets that hide in our genome! Visit and interact with the museum’s new temporary exhibit, “World War I and America”, sponsored by a grant received from the Library of America in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and the National Endowment for the Humanities. April 6, 2017 marked the 100th anniversary of the United States’entrance into World War I. Patrons will have a chance to walk through a WWI trench, learn what life was like for the soldiers and how Owensboro’s Homefront helped the war effort. The exhibit will run from April 1st through November 11, 2017.

Children of all ages can learn fun tips about nutrition, exercise and what it means to stay healthy!  Through games and hands-on food preparations, kids and parents can learn easy and nutritious food recipes together! Games and delicious free foods are also offered. KIDS IN THE KITCHEN is presented by Junior League of Owensboro, Inc. Thank you to their amazing volunteers and to Owensboro Health for their support in bringing this program to the families of Owensboro - Daviess County!
