Shark Day! "Shark Cart" Live Shark Encounter!
Join us as we welcome the Newport Aquarium's Wave Foundation educators and LIVE SHARKS as they present their "Shark Cart " program at OMSH! There will be two presentations, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Each program will begin with a talk about sharks which will help patrons understand common misconceptions about sharks while learning more about these amazing creatures!  Several animal artifacts are used in this presentation like shark jaws, a can of shark fin soup, shark eggs, etc. By the end of the presentation, you will discover how you can make a difference in shark conservation! Patrons will then be invited to get up "close and personal" to the sharks, touch them and make photographs!  The program is included in the cost of admission, $3 per person with ages two and under free or free with museum membership! Remember, a $40 Museum Membership provides an entire year of free access to the museum and all its programs, PLUS free admission into over 300 museums across the United States!

"RIVER ADVENTURE" - Regional Storyteller Susan Fowler brings adventures on the Ohio River to life!
Join us on the first day of the Summer Feeding Program (and the last week of the very popular RiverWorks Discovery Traveling Exhibit!) as we welcome one the region's premiere storytellers, Susan Fowler! She'll weave a story through the ages on the Ohio River - featuring the people that lived on its banks and the boats and animals that travel in the river! Using drama, music, sign language and sketches, Susan will introduce the river's history, natural history and its currents uses. Stories come alive as participants become the characters, the landscape or even a vocabulary word! Great event for all ages - free with admission of $3 per person and free to museum members!

SUMMER SCIENCE WORKSHOP #1: Finding Patient Zero - Infectious Disease and the Zombie Apocalypse!!
What causes outbreaks? How are diseases spread? Step into the role of a real-life epidemiologist as we try to stop a global pandemic! All sessions will be conducted by Dr. Natalie Mountjoy's high school students from the Life Science Acadmey Community Campus program. Best for ages eight through twelve years old.
