"World War I and America"
Visit and interact with the museum’s new temporary exhibit, “World War I and America”, sponsored by a grant received from the Library of America in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and the National Endowment for the Humanities. April 6, 2017 marked the 100th anniversary of the United States’entrance into World War I. Patrons will have a chance to walk through a WWI trench, learn what life was like for the soldiers and how Owensboro’s Homefront helped the war effort. The exhibit will run from April 1st through November 11, 2017.

Kids in the Kitchen - Enjoy games, hands-on activities and delicious, nutritious foods!
Children of all ages can learn fun tips about nutrition, exercise and what it means to stay healthy!  Through games and hands-on food preparations, kids and parents can learn easy and nutritious food recipes together! Games and delicious free foods are also offered. KIDS IN THE KITCHEN is presented by Junior League of Owensboro, Inc. Thank you to their amazing volunteers and to Owensboro Health for their support in bringing this program to the families of Owensboro - Daviess County!

Summer Feeding Program - Any patron 18 years or younger may enjoy a free lunch at the museum!
Any child 18 years or younger may partake of a free, nutritious lunch Tuesdays through Fridays at OMSH! Meals must be eaten on-site. Provided by the Summer Feeding Program through the Owensboro Public Schools.

Historic Coal Mine Tour - The Day in the Life of a 1930's Rudy Coal Mine Miner
Put on a coal mine helmet and join us on a trip through the Rudy Coal Mine, an historic Daviess County coal mine featuring the history of coal mining in the 19th Century, along with the 1930's time period. This tour is included with admission, but space is limited. Please sign up at our admissions desk when you check into the museum. Enjoy the tour!
