SCHOOL’S OUT SCIENCE CAMP AT OMSH! 
A partnership between OMSH & Kentucky Science Center! 
Two Camps: June 26 - 30 & July 10–14 / Grades K-5

 

June 26 - 30, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
Grades K-1: TALL TALES - Hey Diddle Diddle! Dive into the science inside your favorite tall tales! Have you ever wondered if a cow can really jump over the moon? Can you build a suit to protect Humpty Dumpty during a three story fall? Explore the world of tall tales from medieval times, when many of these stories originated, to our real lives now 
Grades 2-3: ENGINEERING EXTREMES - Take on real-life challenges that explore concepts in physics, architecture, mechanical and structural engineering. 
Grades 4-5: MEDICAL MYSTERIES - Discover the medical advances that explain certain genetic mutations. Why can kids have brown eyes if both parents' eyes are blue? Can mutations give you super human strength? Uncode these secrets that hide in our genome!

 

July 10–14, 2017, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. 
Grades K-1: WILD BY DESIGN - Is that a bug or a leaf? Is that poisonous, or is it trying to scare away predators? Find out how animals around the world protect themselves from their environments. 
Grades 2-3: ECO EXPLORERS - Discover what it means to be an ecologist as we investigate what lives in our soil. Explore some of America’s National Parks and investigate how some of the ecosystems support life in extreme ways. Finally, roll up your sleeves and experiment! 
Grades 4-5: WEDO ZOO - It’s the wild side of robotic engineering! Learn about animal adaptations and robotics! Design and build a robotics animal using LEGO WeDo Robotics.
