Spring Break 2017 Is Full Of Live Animal Shows And LOTS Of Fun!

Take a Look at Our Special Programs for Spring Break!!

Saturday, 1 April

11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.: Live Snake TalkJoin us for an up close and personal visit with our resident corn snake Ochy, as we discuss how snakes live, eat and interact with the world around them. Patrons will have a chance to touch Ochy and make photographs.

2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.: Live Snake TalkJoin us for an up close and personal visit with our resident corn snake Ochy, as we discuss how snakes live, eat and interact with the world around them. Patrons will have a chance to touch Ochy and make photographs.

Tuesday, 4 April

11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.: Live Spring Baby AnimalsJoin Debbie Taylor and her amazing animals from Equestrian Enterprises, as she shares interesting stories and information about each animal. Patrons will be able to touch, interact and take photographs with baby piglets, baby bunnies, a baby zebu, a baby goat/sheep and perhaps a few surprises!

1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.: Repeat of Live Spring Baby Animals!

Wednesday, 5 April

11:00 a.m. – Noon: "Whoooo are You?"  -  The Daviess County Audubon Society will be on hand to teach us all about owls! We’ll take a look at special traits shared by owls from around the world and common Kentucky owls. Patrons will meet a real owl from Owensboro’s Nuture to Nature. Older children (AGES 8 AND OLDER) will be able to dissect an owl pellet to learn about owl diets.

Friday, 7 April

11:00 a.m. – Noon: Kids in the Kitchen – The Junior League of Owensboro’s Kids in the Kitchen program will take a look back at Owensboro in 1917, during World War I and talk about the food rationing that occurred and about today’s food portion sizes. They’ll be serving whole wheat bread, fruit and veggies (without cooking) and talk about the importance of eating healthy foods to sustain strength and give energy…just like the soldiers of WWI required!
