Mission

The mission of the organization is to collect, preserve, and exhibit artifacts of regional culture and natural history; to maintain a hands-on discovery center revolving around all observed, real, and applied science; and to use its collections and exhibits to maintain an educational resource center.

Vision

The museum will serve as the front door to downtown Owensboro, as a cornerstone in economic and tourism development, and as a cutting-edge educational center where imagination meets learning. We will continue to preserve our region’s natural and cultural history and expand the visitor experience. Our educational programming and outreach service will encourage patrons and citizen scientists to become self-directed life-long learners.
