Rocks, Minerals and Fossils!
Join Geologist Cran Combs at his lab station in our Mammoth Lobby on
Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – Noon and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and discover more about:
-What is a Mineral? What is a Rock?
-What are the different types of rocks and why are they different? What do they look
like? Where do you find them?
-Rocks and Minerals of Kentucky
-Crystalline structures of minerals
-How to identify minerals
-And more!
There will be activities and handouts for all ages and everyone will go home with a specimen or two.
Patrons should be sure and bring their rocks, minerals and fossils from home for
identification!
It’s going to be a rockin’ weekend at OMSH! All activities are included with
admission of $5.00 per person, (2 and under are free) and as always, Museum Members
are free!
