Voices of Elmwood is a celebration of history, designed to honor our region’s heritage and the lives of the many people buried at Owensboro’s Elmwood Cemetery. Hosted by Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery and Lead sponsor, Dahl and Groezinger, Inc.
2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, and for the first time, Voices of Elmwood will focus entirely on the people and events that shaped the early American frontier in our region.
Through compelling portrayals of settlers, soldiers, explorers, and other figures from our nation’s formative years, audiences will experience the challenges, triumphs, and sacrifices that forged our region’s communities.
Held at Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery, Voices of Elmwood opens on September 17th and runs for a total of nine evenings in September and October, with tent shows on October 1-3 taking the place of the 6pm wagon ride.
- Performances begin at 6:00 p.m. each night and last approximately 75 minutes.
- Wagons leave every thirty minutes each evening and stop for each actor’s presentation, with trailer guides providing additional historical information after each performance. Each trailer features bench seating with back support.
- Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your wagon’s departure time or tent show performance.
- Tent shows, perfect for church groups, supper clubs, tour buses or patrons preferring a covered seat, will be offered on October 1st, 2nd and 3rd and will begin at 6:00 p.m. Group pricing is available with sales of 10 or more tickets.
